Tucson’s Tasty Tavolino – Now THAT’s Italian

Met our good friend Mary Jane McKitis for dinner the other night.  Haven’t seen her in a year and a half since she became and ex-pat and moved to Portugal.  (Poor dear!)  We selected Tavolino Restaurant at the Southwest Corner of Campbell and Skyline in the Plaza Colonial Shopping Center. Booking a reservation was easy since they are listed on Open Table.    Simply delicious! They were especially accommodating since we were clearly more in tune with getting reacquainted than with the task at hand deciding what to mangia on!

Two Perfect Food Groups

It was Pasta all the way around this evening.  I had the Penne alla Bosciaola which incorporates home made sausage.  Charles had the Penne ai Funghi which is rich in Mushrooms.  So many pastas, so little time.  You can check out the full MENU here.

Reservations are recommended as this very popular spot can fill up fast.  In addition to the main dining room there is ample seating at their wrap around bar and additionally outside on the patio under cover.  Add this one to your must list.

Or perhaps you have another Tucson must have restaurant recommendation??  Clue us in and we’ll set our GPS to guide us!
